Lately we’ve been talking about a Black Plasma Gaming channel, and we want to hear everyone’s thoughts!
I’d like to use this article to explain some of our reasoning, our motivation, and our plans for such a channel.
A Channel for Gaming
Black Plasma Studios has always been focused on making creative, story-oriented cinematic content. Whether it be Minecraft animations or Halo machinimas, we wanted to create original and interesting movies for our audience to watch and enjoy. Gaming has always been a secondary focus for our channel, however many of our creators enjoy gaming and have done gameplay content on our own personal channels. We’ve never wanted to spam BPS up with gameplay, nor I want to spam my own channel up with gameplay. Having a Black Plasma Gaming channel means we can finally have a place to upload our gameplay without feeling like we are alienating our audience. People will subscribe for our gameplay, and will exactly that.
Earlier the Better
Initially our goal was to wait until this winter, or when we hit 250k subscribers to launch Black Plasma Gaming. Lately however we’re thinking- why not just launch it now? We’re already doing gameplay videos and streams on our personal channels- why not start building up Black Plasma Gaming on the side instead? We can announce it formally down the road, or mention it at the end of our animations along the way.
Time for Both
One of the fears we had with a gaming channel would be that we wouldn’t have enough time to focus on both BPS and a gaming channel. However, as previously mentioned, we already have been doing both animations for BPS as well as gameplay (on our personal channels), and we’re still releasing animations weekly on BPS. 🙂
Connect with Out Fans
Gaming is always a great way to connect to our fans, so having a gaming channel where we can start doing more community-events, bringing in fans for some recordings, and other stuff is a great way to stay connected with our fans beyond our animations.
